It is a pleasure once again to see so many strong players
from abroad and from Denmark as well. A special welcome
to Zia this time with Howard Weinstein as partner and
to the Irish national open team. A warm welcome to the
strong ladies, Sabine with her favourite partner, Daniela,
and the Norwegian goldwinners from Tenerife 2005, Ċse
Langeland_Tone Torkelsen Svendsen. And of course to
all other participants. The field seems to be stronger than
ever before in this tournament.

The French junior pair, Bessis_Gaviard, were
introduced as the youngest pair in the Hecht
Cup. I may be true, but the Raulund_Ege kids
for sure are breaking the record (10 and 15).
Anna Christa choose to play with Anita
Jensen, but later on she learned that Anita is a
school teacher.
Oh, give me a break. Am I wasting a Friday
evening with a school teacher!, Anna Christa
cried.< br/>
Both Anna Christa and Niclas looked
friendly enough when I together with Anne
Mette accepted their kind offer on massage,
but ... oh, give me a break!

What a finish ... no, not Finish, rather
Swedish, Danish and Norwegian!
The SweDanes had a good nights sleep at
top, but after round 7 Sĝren Godtfredsen
and Sorin Lupan (winners of the first
Hecht Cup) took over and planned to stay
in front. With only five rounds to go Boye
Brogeland and Erik Sĉlensminde with a
hat trick of enormous scores, +64, +64,
and +56, wanted to join the party, and
even with a moderate finish there was no
doubt of their succes. Godtfredsen/ Lupan
and Bruun/Fredin managed to finish at the
very same score, and thus we have two
runners up in the Hecht Cup 2005.
